[Integrated Development of Culture and Technology] HUTB Holds Frontier Research and Exchange Meeting

In order to implement the unified deployment of the CPC HUTB Committee regarding the promotion of integrated development of culture and technology, and to comprehensively promote the transformation of concepts and improvement of capabilities among faculty and staff in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI) and interdisciplinary studies, and to normalize such promotion, a frontier research and exchange meeting on the integrated development of culture and technology was held on the afternoon of April 28 at the Zhizhi Lecture Hall on the 6th floor of the Xiangjiang Building. Liu Guoquan, Member of the CPC HUTB Committee and Vice President of HUTB, attended and presided over the meeting. Heads of relevant functional departments, leaders of all secondary schools, and young doctoral representatives also participated in the meeting.
Vice President Liu Guoquan stated that this meeting is a sub-activity of the themed education season on the integrated development of culture and technology at our university. Its purpose is to explore the development trends of "AI+" and promote the transformation of our university's disciplines and majors, faculty development, and talent cultivation. He expressed his hope that all secondary units would implement the decisions and deployment of the CPC HUTB Committee, engage in diligent thinking, prioritize practical application, and deepen the progress of various tasks, thus yielding more fruitful outcomes.
During the keynote speech session, teacher representatives including Xie Zhiyuan, Ren Jian, Wu Can, Peng Wenzhong, Xu Xuesong, and Liu Xingbao respectively delivered speeches and exchanged views on topics such as "Promoting the deep integration of culture and technology as the new mission of universities", "Promoting innovation and development in disciplinary majors through the integration of culture and technology", "The boundary of art and artificial intelligence creation", "Empowering humanities disciplines with technology", "Empowering scientific research and technological innovation with high energy-level platforms", and "Innovations and practices in classroom teaching based on large models". They all expressed their determination to stay observant while pursuing innovation, empower teaching with technology, fully inspire students' learning interests, rejuvenate the learning experience, improve teaching effectiveness, and promote the university to become a highland for the integrated development of culture and technology.
During the interactive session, teachers such as Xie Xiaoliang, Nie Zhi, Tan Zhijun, Wang Peiliang, Tang Huichi, and Luo Xiaoyu shared their experiences and presented case studies based on their work. They engaged in interactive discussions on the topic of "How to adapt to the transformation brought by the development trend of ‘AI+’".
The heads of the CPC Committee Publicity Department and the CPC Committee Teacher Affairs Department delivered speeches on the implementation and effectiveness of the themed education season activities focusing on the integrated development of culture and technology.
